We both do agree that it should have been black though.Order before 11am, and your item will ship same day (Australia Only) If your order is coming from more than one location: We suggest you order with Standard Shipping rather than Express (this is due in part to transportation time between stores to get your order combined and sent from 1 location which will delay your "express" postage option). I figured maroon was as neutral as it gets for me and I also had to contend with all the bare metal foil that I used on this car so I didn't want to compound issues with a difficult color to show as well. When you mentioned black I had to chuckle a little bit because I LOVE black and I paint a lot of my builds that color. The boy I was building it for didn't like that theme so I went for one that he wanted instead but compromised with him on the engine and used the 348 out of the Revell '58 Impala kit which was a much nicer option. My original intent was to build it as a street machine with Chevrolet Rallye wheels from the late 60's that were used on Camaros and to put a 350 in it instead of either one of the terrible engine choices from the kit. I had a couple of ways to go with it color wise and actually theme wise. The paint looks superb and a great finish, although I'm not a fan of the colour, but that's just me, I would like it in high gloss black with the chrome, but that would be my choice, nothing wrong with your paint job You've got to admit it, the '50s had some nice looking cars with all the wings and curves, and this is a really well done interpretation of one of them
